If you are new to Brisbane or between rental agreements, you may need to find temporary accommodation. Due to tightening rental markets across Queensland, the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) reminds renters to take extra care when searching for a longer-term rental property.
The following list is not exhaustive but may assist you in securing short-term accommodation. Prices are correct at the time of listing (Sept 2023). You should check each provider’s website and contact them directly to determine the suitability of their accommodation prior to booking. Also be sure to check each location and nearby transport options.

The Lodge Annerley brings together people of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds and professions under one roof.
Avon Lodge, Spring Hill offers hostel accommodation – furnished single rooms with TV, fridge and wifi. Rooms have a minimum stay of 4 weeks and are $230/week, plus 2 weeks’ bond.
Boribista Student Accommodation offers short-term (min. 1 week) and long-term (min. 3 month) student accommodation.
There are 15 modern rooms with 2 shared bathrooms, 2 separate toiles, kitchen, lounge and study area, and internet.
Options for short-term or long-term residents. New condos include full kitchen, internal laundry space, sound proofing, insulation, air conditioning, undercover carport, and lockable storage.
Villas are available short- or long-term for students, singles or couples.
Brisbane Gateway Resort offers modern cabin accommodation, spacious caravan sites, and amenities including a large swimming pool, tennis court, playground, BBQs and free wi-fi. Long-term furnished rental homes are sometimes available for 12-month terms.
Sunnybank Hills Caravan Park offers a range of budget caravans, modern cabins and mobile homes for rental on a permanent basis (min. 3 months) and a limited selection of short-term accommodation.
Offers dorm single, twin, double, triple and family accommodation with security, off-street parking, wifi, barbecue area, TVs, and 24-hour check-in. Some rooms are air conditioned.
Offers overnight and long-term rental accommodation.
Fleet Lane offers spectacular city views and access to the large roof top terrace including spa, sun lounges, shaded barbeques and dining areas, and zen garden.
Offers a range of homestay packages to suit different needs and budgets, including packages with no, some, or all meals included. Packages prices include internet access, laundry facilities and utilities.
Students are placed based on preferences and availability of matching hosts with regard to proximity to their place of study. Applications received well in advance are recommended.
Homestay is available for domestic and international students who want to live in a family environment.
Students and other guests are usually provided access to a furnished bedroom, meals and facilities such as the laundry and other common areas of the home. Includes a furnished bedroom, bed linen, internet, and utilities. Study Vision may also be able to assist with applying for shared student accommodation.
