Hi, my name is Sara Cunningahm, and I am a committee member of the SRC for Mount Gravatt Campus. My journey at Griffith started in 2021 doing an Undergrad Cert of Education. As a mature age, first in family student, uni life was a bit terrifying initially. Because of this, I fully immersed myself in uni life, by finding out as much as I could about the supports and resources available to students. I also got involved in events and services at Griffith to connect with others. In 2022 I switched to B. Psychology (Hons) and believe it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. At my core, I am a helper and am deeply motivated to help others find their way and succeed in life. I am part of the Student Mentoring team at Griffith, helping out at O-Week and other behind the scenes programs designed to support students.
Apart from uni life, I work as a teacher aide at my local school, a job I absolutely love! I’m also a mum of an amazing 11 year old. When not doing all those things, I love reading, watching Studio Ghibli films, and getting out in nature. As one of your SRC committee members, I am committed to ensuring Mt Gravatt students are provided with the services and support they need to succeed, and am dedicated to being an ear and voice for students at our small campus.
If you see me around, please come say hi. I’d love to chat with you and find out what the SRC can do to help you get the most out of your Griffith experience!
