Renting 101 – Know your rights and responsibilities as a tenant. 

Join us online or in person at Nathan Campus (snacks will be provided) for a series of three (3) free workshops hosted by Queensland Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS) to learn the basics of renting in Queensland. Learn more about each workshop below.

Workshop 2: During a tenancy – Your Rights & How to Deal with Problems

Thursday, 30th July 2026 | 12 PM – 1 PM

RESHEDULED: Wednesday, 26 August from 12 pm to 1pm

Learn your rights and responsibilities when renting, as well as the responsibilities of your lessor, agent or provider. We’ll also discuss simple strategies for handling common rental problems so you can approach disputes with confidence.



Workshop 1: Starting your tenancy – Your First Steps to Success

Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 | 12 PM – 1 PM

Start your renting journey with confidence. From applying for properties to signing your rental agreement, knowing your rights and the processes involved will make your life easier and help to prevent problems later on.

Workshop 3: Ending a tenancy – Getting Your Bond Back

Thursday, 6th August 2026 | 12 PM – 1 PM

Understand the steps to end your rental agreement, from giving notice to completing the Exit Condition Report. Know what you need to do before you move out to give yourself the best chance of getting your bond back.
