Short-term accommodation options, Brisbane

If you are new to Brisbane or between rental agreements, you may need to find temporary accommodation. Due to tightening rental markets across Queensland, the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) reminds renters to take extra care when searching for a longer-term rental property.

The following list is not exhaustive but may assist you in securing short-term accommodation. Prices are correct at the time of listing (Sept 2023). You should check each provider’s website and contact them directly to determine the suitability of their accommodation prior to booking. Also be sure to check each location and nearby transport options.

Temporary accommodation options around Brisbane

The Lodge Annerley brings together people of all ages, from a variety of backgrounds and professions, under one roof. Learn more here.

Avon Lodge, Spring Hill offers hostel accommodation – furnished single rooms with TV, fridge and wifi. Rooms have a minimum stay of 4 weeks and are $230/week, plus 2 weeks’ bond. Learn more here.

Fleet Lane Apartments, South Brisbane, offers overnight and long-term rental accommodation. Fleet Lane offers spectacular city views and access to the large rooftop terrace, including spa, sun lounges, shaded barbeques and dining areas, and a zen garden. Learn more here.

Tuscany House, Spring Hill
Offers dormitory, single, twin, double, triple, and family accommodation, with security, off-street parking, Wi-Fi, barbecue area, TVs, and 24-hour check-in. Some rooms are air-conditioned. Learn more here.

Study Vision Homestay is available for domestic and international students who want to live in a family environment. Students and other guests are usually provided access to a furnished bedroom, meals and facilities such as the laundry and other common areas of the home. Includes a furnished bedroom, bed linen, internet, and utilities. Study Vision may also be able to assist with applying for shared student accommodation. Learn more here.

Australian Homestay Network – Brisbane offers a range of homestay packages to suit different needs and budgets, including packages with no, some, or all meals included. Package prices include internet access, laundry facilities and utilities. Students are placed based on preferences and the availability of matching hosts with regard to proximity to their place of study. Applications received well in advance are recommended.
