Statutory declarations are written statements declaring that something is true and correct. They carry a degree of formal authority that statements with only a signature do not. For matters dealt with by Queensland legislation, they are made under the Oaths Act 1867.
To make an appointment please email gupsa@griffith.edu.au.
In your email, please advise the type of service you wish, e.g. witnessing a statutory declaration, certifying a copy of a document etc. Please also advise some times and days that suit you to see the Cdec so that the Cdec can make an appointment for you.
What a Cdec can do
Cdecs don’t have any judicial function, so they don’t deal with any court process. Cdecs are not qualified, nor are they expected, in their role to give legal advice.

SRC Advocacy partnered with Emma from The Broke Generation to deliver a series of Financial Wellbeing Workshops focused on increasing students’ financial literacy and confidence to implement saving strategies over the short and long term.
Workshop 1: Introduction To Financial Confidence
The first online workshop introduced the concept of financial wellbeing and covered important topics such as money mindset and financial personality, basic budgeting, handy savings strategies, and how to conduct a monthly money review.
The three workshops and additional financial resources, such as Emma’s 90-Day Cash Flow Planner, can also be accessed on Wellness HQ via Blackboard.
Workshop 2: Financial Literacy Foundations
This workshop covered essential points such as living below your means while building your savings, debt management, tax basics, interest rates, bank accounts, credit cards and everyday budgeting.
We also encourage you to check out The Broke Generation for more information about how you can increase your financial literacy through handy money-saving tips.
Workshop 3: Budgeting and Spending
This workshop focused on understanding your spending personality and behaviours, unlearning unhelpful financial thought patterns, setting up savings accounts and emergency funds, and how to set up and implement your budget.
Emma’s 90-Day Cash Flow Plan (available on Wellness HQ) is a great resource to help you understand how you spend your money and set up your budget.
