Hygienic Practices Food Safety

Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment

Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety course is an introductory course for those wanting to work in the hospitality industry. All kitchen staff, waiters, and bar staff are required to hold this certificate. This course is often called: ‘Level 1 Food Safety’, ‘Level 1 Food Hygiene’ and ‘Level 1 Food handlers’.

Prepare/serve espresso coffee

Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment

This Barista Essentials in-person course provides individuals with the basic knowledge and skills to produce and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial machines, with a focus on milk texturing and coffee art.

It also teaches learners to organise their coffee workstation, use and clean espresso equipment, select and grind coffee beans, advise customers, and control the quality and texture of espresso and milk.

Barista Essentials Training

This is not an accredited Barista Course; it will teach you the basics virtually.

This Barista Essentials online course provides individuals with the basic knowledge and skills to produce and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial machines.

It also teaches learners to organise their coffee workstation, use and clean espresso equipment, select and grind coffee beans, advise customers, and control the quality and texture of espresso and milk.

  • Course duration: 3+ Hours
  • Valid in all Australian States
  • Course delivery: Online only

  • Online Course: This combined “Cafe Essentials” offering covers both Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005) and Barista Essentials Training (Non-Accredited).
  • In-person Course: This combined “Cafe Essentials” offering covers both Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005) and Barista Essentials Training (SITHFAB025).

 

  • If you attend a Logan, Brisbane City (QCAD/QCGU) or Brisbane South (Nathan) campus, you are not eligible to attend the online course. You can attend an in-person Cafe Essentials Course.
  • Online students are eligible to attend the in-person course or online course.
  • Once you register, we’ll enrol you with the course provider. After registrations close and placements are finalised, you’ll receive a separate email with your course link and instructions to get started.
