Hello, I am Amie O’Brien, and I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Social Work at Logan Campus.

I love that University brings so many different people together. It is a great opportunity to find people with similar thoughts and ideas to experience and meet others who have walked different paths and to share and learn from each other.

I have numerous interests; (in)justice, equality, equal opportunities etc., but my main passion is the child protection system. I want to develop better outcomes for children and young people living in out-of-home care. I really want to see more people with a lived experience of the child protection system enrolling in degrees!

I know that Uni can feel overwhelming at times, and it can be difficult to navigate where to seek help from. I just hope to be a friendly face who can help. I wholeheartedly believe. ‘In a world where you can be anything, be kind’.
