How the Student Pantry will work in Trimester 2
Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on the Student Pantry during Trimester 1, and a special thank you to the students who participated in our Student Pantry co-design sessions. We undertook a thorough three-part co-design process to ensure the Trimester 2 delivery model works for as many students as possible.
Changes that better support you
We listened to your suggestions, and we have made several changes to improve the experience for Trimester 2.
- New booking system: Students can now book a pantry session up to 48 hours in advance, reducing wait times and making visits more convenient. A limited number of walk-in appointments will still be available each day.
- Weekly visits and point allocation: The Student Pantry now operates on a once-per-week access model. Each student can visit the pantry once per week and receive 30 points to use during their session. Any unused points cannot be carried over to the following week, as your 30-point allocation resets each weekly visit.
- Low sensory session: This trimester, we are trialling a low sensory session at the Nathan campus with no lights or music. This session is designed to assist students who find loud, busy environments overwhelming by providing a quieter, more comfortable space to access the Student Pantry.
- After-hours sessions: The weekly late-night sessions are designed for students who can’t attend during regular hours, including placement students and shift workers.
- Logan and Southbank: The free fruit and vegetable market has been integrated into the Student Pantry, providing students with a more flexible way to access fresh produce alongside essential items. Your 30 points allocated for the pantry will not apply to fresh produce, which remains free.
We are here to help.
We look forward to sharing the new Student Pantry service with you. If you have any questions about the Student Associations’ pantry service, please email: studentpantry@griffith.edu.au
