SRC Constitution Changes: Welcoming the Digital Campus

The Student Representative Council has commenced the necessary process of changing the constitution to include the digital campus as a designated campus to allow for an SRC Digital Campus Committee. This will allow for Griffith students who are studying online to have representation on the Student Representative Council in 2021. In accordance with the SRC constitution, a referendum must be held to allow the Brisbane and Logan undergraduate student body to vote on these changes.

Please Click Here for the proposed changes to the constitution. A summary of changes below:

  • Page 4 – 1.1.1 l: SRC Campus means a campus of the University that has been designated as an SRC Campus for the purposes of this Constitution by the Council, including, unless the Council decides to the contrary, the campuses of the University located in Brisbane and Logan, and the Digital Campus. Nathan, Logan, South Bank and Mt Gravatt in the State of Queensland.  For consistency with the Act, an SRC Campus does not include the campus of the University located at the Gold Coast;

Voting in the Referendum

Voting will be conducted by electronic means from 9am on Monday 2nd November 2020 and will close on Friday 6th November at 5pm. If you wish to vote in this referendum, you should record your vote electronically at the Student Election website:

The Student Representative Council has committed a third round of funding to further assist undergraduate students experiencing financial hardship caused by COVID19.

The first and second rounds of SRC Grocery Vouchers provided a limited number of bursaries of $50 per applicant to assist with these expenses.  In this third round, the SRC is increasing the bursary from $50 to $100 and allowing students who previously applied for the first and second round another opportunity to apply if they are still experiencing financial hardship due to COVID19.

The SRC offers this assistance to students on the following basis:

  • No guarantee of the availability of bursaries in any particular trimester
  • This is once-off support only; no on-going support should be expected through this scheme. Meaning you may only apply for one (1) bursary of $100 in round 3.
  • If you applied for and received a $50 Bursary through this scheme previously, you are eligible to apply for another bursary in round 3. You will need to complete a new application with your updated financial information.
  • This bursary is funded by the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and administered by the Griffith University Student Representative Council.

Round 3 applications open October 26th, 2020 and will close on Friday 11th December 2020.
